Brush dust after every wear. Let wet leather dry at room temperature, away from heaters. Once dry, use a matching cream and a horsehair brush.

Exotic and oiled leathers

Exotic skins need a dedicated conditioner. Oiled work leather likes a light coat of boot oil a few times a year, not a weekly soak.

Storage

Cedar trees keep the shaft standing. Do not stack pairs shaft-to-shaft for months. Keep them out of a hot truck cab.
